This approval for an exciting government initiative reinforces Evaware’s reputation for delivering secure clinical and administrative solutions for existing and new government clients.
G-Cloud is a United Kingdom Government initiative that aims to provide a single repository of cloud-based IT services for use by public sector organisations, through the Digital Marketplace – an online store for cloud IT services. The move is designed to drive the wider adoption of cloud computing in the public sector and deliver a more efficient, competitive and cost-effective way of buying IT services.
UK Central Government is mandated to evaluate potential cloud solutions first before considering any other options and the approach is strongly recommended to the wider public sector.

Project E-vita has also recently been deployed to a new Azure platform based in Dublin with Geo-locational replication to Amsterdam to provide a robust and resilient platform for the secure delivery of Electronic Patient Records and management of Healthcare. Azure has been for a number of years now included in the UK Government’s G-cloud framework, a programme to promote government-wide adoption of cloud computing.
Cyber Essentials is a scheme backed by the UK government and supported within the industry to provide companies with the ability to protect themselves effectively from cyber security threats and, reduce the level of cyber security risk in its supply chain. Cyber Essentials has four accreditation bodies, including IASME, which are specified by the government.

Scandals such as that shown in Mid-Staffordshire NHS highlighted failure in the management of quality and risk in a healthcare environment. The government’s response called for increased demands on healthcare providers (Under a review of the Care Quality Commission) to deliver transparent auditable processes for monitoring incidents and complaints and provide frameworks for patients and healthcare professionals to feel comfortable in highlighting issues / failures.
Delivering healthcare in patients’ own homes as opposed to a hospital environment presents unique challenges in managing quality & risk. Remotely monitoring the quality of care delivered, and trapping complaints or incidents, requires special mobile solutions to enable capture of information as quickly as possible and as near to the point of delivery of care.
Project E-vita Patient Record system from Evaware Ltd has two features fully integrated into the patient record to assist in tackling these problems. Firstly what we termed “Careplan” functionality and secondly Incident & Complaint Management.
Careplans in Project E-vita are a mechanism for the establishment of a planned pathway of clinical and administrative procedures for a patient through to their eventual discharge. Deviations or exceptions are centrally monitored on a “service dashboard”. The entire pathway is mapped out in the Careplan and ad-hoc tasks can be added as the patient progresses through the treatment process. The service dashboard integration gives management a powerful oversight on what services have or have not been delivered to patients in a live feed environment and enabling them to make decisions on how best to deal with any exceptions.
Incident & Complaint Management
Careplans are designed to minimise the chance of error and are the first line of defence in managing risk in healthcare environments through there is always the chance of something going wrong. Incident and Complaint management make it easy for healthcare professionals to safely record directly onto a patient record that an incident has occurred or that a complaint has been received from a patient or their relatives. As with Careplans, Incident and Complaint cases are fully integrated into the service dashboard to quickly raise a flag with the team management that an issue has arisen and start a chain of events to manage the situation. Cases are followed up in a timely manner using the system’s review cycle and activities (Telephone calls, letters written etc) are all recorded in a comprehensive audit log providing a transparent and confidential trail showing the steps taken to resolve the situation.

Following on from the recent release of Version 10 of Project E-vita (http://projectevita.com), the pay as you go hosted electronic patient records system, Evaware Ltd of the Isle of Man has released a new app on Beta giving customers the capability to capture patient data even when off-line.
Targeting in particular Home Healthcare Providers and NGOs who often face the task of capturing clinical / consultation data while mobile and in places without links to the internet, PE Remote from Evaware Ltd (http://evaware.com) bridges the gap. PE Remote enables Project E-vita healthcare professionals to gather patient demographic and clinical data while out of range of data access, for instance in a patient’s own home, or in the case of NGO’s out in remote areas, miles from internet access. Once the operator is then in range of an internet service the system automatically synchronises all data with their master patient records hosted on Project E-vita’s service.
Initially available on Android, PE Remote will also be available on iOS devices as well as Windows phone and Windows 8.x, not to mention the upcoming release of Windows 10.
Forming a key element of Evaware’s strategy of delivering “Patient records anywhere”, PE Remote gives Project E-vita clients unmatched access to patient data review and capture functionality no matter how demanding the communications infrastructure and helping our clients deliver on contractual and clinical outputs.

Version 10 is not only about Home Healthcare and the acute sector. 2015 will see Evaware joining forces with medical device manufacturers and integrating monitoring equipment with the Project E-vita health record service. Evaware will offer a wide assortment of equipment for patients to use in their own homes for remote monitoring by physicians of their wellbeing as part of the management of chronic / long term conditions. Telehealth reduces hospitalisation costs and unnecessary patient inconvenience. Previously Telehealth required the inclusion of expensive in-home “hubs” to connect monitoring equipment to their patient record but the advancement of Smartphone and similar device technology has removed this need.
Evaware is now embarking on international joint ventures and expanding the global reach of their pay as you go Electronic Patient Health Record solution. Negotiations are under way to bring this essential tool for delivery and management of Home Healthcare to the Middle East, Australia and the Far East. Project E-vita – One platform, all devices.
Evaware Ltd has committed to providing Project E-vita clients with offline secure access to patient records on Android Tablets and Smartphones by the first quarter of 2015. This feature is making a welcome return to Project E-vita having been discontinued as a feature available on older Windows CE devices in the mid to late 2000s.
The timeline for development includes beginning beta testing with selected clients at the end of the year and release to all users by end of March 2015.
The return of this functionality was made possible by the maturity of development platforms currently available for mobile and tablet platforms. Project E-vita offline access will only initially be available for Android devices however a later version will appear for iOS as well as the development technology being used lends itself to deployment to other platforms as well.
